Therapy supported by nutrition and lifestyle interventions
to promote health, healing and balance
All services are available via telehealth to residents of michigan and colorado. Office based appointments currently available as needed in Northern michigan/charlevoix location
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
Individual Therapy is a private, often deeply intimate process that can focus on many issues, such as depression, anxiety, social relationships, trauma, questions of self-esteem and substance use. Sessions are scheduled for 50 minutes. In my experience it is helpful to meet at least once a week in the beginning, but this is flexible depending on your needs and preferences.
COUPLES and FAMILY THERAPY
The goal of couples and family therapy is to create a cooperative environment within which each individual can participate in a constructive conversation concerning the issues they are confronting. These issues vary considerably, from major changes being experienced in someone’s life, rebuilding trust in a relationship, finding understanding, dealing with difficult changes in an ongoing relationship or even the ending of a relationship. Couples and Family sessions are scheduled for a full hour.
COVID-19 CRISIS SERVICES
I have specific training and experience in disaster response and am available to provide services to assist you in managing stress and anxiety in this difficult time. I have specific training related to assisting first responders and other front line staff.
NUTRITIONAL THERAPY
The first wealth is health.......Ralph Waldo Emerson
What good nutrition means is learning to make some simple changes in your diet that positively impact your wellbeing. We start slow, one small step at a time. The nutrition program is flexible and non-threating; it is designed to encourage good nutritional habits based on knowledge and understanding, and not just blindly following rules. Together we can change not only what you eat, we can also change how you feel about yourself. Nutritional Therapy may be a part of an individual therapy session or a separate meeting.
YOGA
Other than the obvious physical benefits of increased strength and flexibility, Yoga can help us manage a variety of health issues such as chronic stress, arthritis and insomnia. A regular practice promotes mental clarity and focus, and can be a powerful tool in managing depression and anxiety, chronic stress, eating disorders and trauma related issues. There is a type and level of yoga available for just about every level of ability. I do not offer Yoga instruction, which is readily available, but offer assistance in helping you build a sustainable practice that fits your lifestyle, budget and personal preferences.
LICENSING SUPERVISION
I provide clinical supervision for therapists, and licensing supervision specifically for Marriage and Family Therapists. I have mentored and trained many supervisors and leaders in the mental health profession and am available for consultation around leadership development as well.
